Smartphone Eye Imaging Adaptor.
It is well acknowledged that imaging is playing a more and more important role in ophthalmology diagnosis. QuikVuePlus is a smartphone adaptor designed especially for anterior segment imag- ing. It provides 10x magnification which meets the basic eye examination demand for optome- trists, general practitioners, pediatricians, veterinarians, etc. The specially designed optical lens enable QuikVue Plus to capture clear anterior images for primary eye care examination and tele- medicine.
QuikVue Plus uses a mini Li-ion rechargeable battery, which can be charged via a Type-C cable. An indicator light beside the charging port changes from blue to green when charging is complete. While operating normally, the switch button glows blue. If power is low, the light flickers to remind clinicians to recharge.
A flickering blue light signals low battery. Once fully recharged, the light turns green, ensuring clinicians are aware of the power status at a glance.
Thanks to its air cushion design, QuikVue Plus securely attaches to most smartphones. To use, clinicians should align the lens with the phone's main camera. The camera should ideally be located within a 5cm x 5cm zone for best compatibility.
QuikVue Plus features a built-in, flipable yellow filter that enables enhanced fluorescein imaging under cobalt blue illumination. This function is especially useful for corneal ulcer imaging, tear film break-up time testing, and contact lens fitting.
QuikVue Plus is compatible with the smartphone's default camera app, as well as the VisuDoc ophthalmic case management app developed by VisuScience. VisuDoc is available for download on both the App Store and Google Play.
